うるし・陶器のかけら・金粉 / Urushi, céramique, poudre d’or
” Fractures are irreversible. Mending is not merely a cover-up; rather, it allows imperfections to unfold new meanings over time. Ryuji Onari’s main medium is working with Urushi, utilizing this for the exhibition through the technique of Kintsugi and also conducting a workshop for the Larnaca Biennale.
In the four-week workshop, local residents learned to repair porcelain pieces with the Kintsugi method. Simultaneously, Onari visited several Cypriot ceramic artists, collecting ceramic fragments produced in different places of the island. In an experimental process, he reassembled these pieces using Kintsugi.
Whether through the gradual accumulation of time in the workshops or the communication of craft techniques, Onari’s process created potent spaces for discussion. ”

「欠陥とは不可逆なものです。繕うことは単に覆い隠すことではなく、むしろ不完全な部分が時間とともに新たな意味を展開することを可能にします。おーなりりゅうじは漆を主な素材とし、今回の展覧会では金継ぎという技法を用い、ラルナカ・ビエンナーレではワークショップを開催しました。
4週間のワークショップでは、地元住民が金継ぎ技法による陶器の修復法を学びました。同時に、おーなりはキプロスで数名の陶芸家を訪ね、島のさまざまな場所で制作された陶器の破片を集めます。実験的なプロセスを経て、彼はこれらの作品を金継ぎで組み立て直しました。
工房での時間の積み重ねであれ、工芸技術の伝達であれ、おーなりのプロセスは議論のための強力な空間を作り出しました。」

” Les fractures sont irréversibles. La réparation n’est pas simplement un camouflet ; il permet plutôt aux imperfections d’acquérir de nouvelles significations au fil du temps.
Ryuji Onari travaille principalement avec l’Urushi, qu’il utilise pour cette exposition par le biais de la technique du Kintsugi, et dirige également un atelier pour la Biennale de Larnaca.
Au cours de cet atelier de quatre semaines, les résidents locaux ont appris à réparer des pièces de porcelaine selon la méthode Kintsugi. Parallèlement, Onari a rendu visite à plusieurs artistes céramistes chypriotes et a collecté des fragments de céramique produits dans différents endroits de l’île. Dans le cadre d’un processus expérimental, il a réassemblé ces pièces en utilisant cette même méthode.
Que ce soit par l’accumulation progressive du temps passé dans les ateliers ou par la communication des techniques artisanales, le processus d’Onari a créé de puissants espaces de discussion. “
